Art Week
Firstly Year 1 learnt about the artist Kandinsky. They studied his artwork he created in 1931- Squares with Concentric Circles
This drawing is a small study on how different colour combinations are perceived that the painter used in his creative process as a support material.
The second artist Year 1 learnt about was Henri Matisse.
Henri Matisse is a French artist known for making colourful works of art. He used a variety of materials in his work, including paint, bronze (for his sculptures), and he also made drawings using charcoal. Matisse began to use collage as he got older. He used brightly coloured paper and scissors to cut out shapes, animals, leaves, dancers and flowers and then arrange them.
