Phonics
We follow the Letters and Sounds sequence of teaching, we work in small groups for a 20 minute session per day.
Monday - Thursday we learn a new sound (phoneme) each day. During these sessions we learn; the new phoneme; how to correctly pronounce it and write it, the corresponding action and learn how to say words that contain the new phoneme.
On Friday we recap on the previously 4 phonemes taught.
We do lots of different phonics games to recap all the phonemes taught for example: phonics bingo, What's in the box? I spy, Trash and Treasure and Phonics Play.
