Reading

Children will be listened to at least once a week in school. It is important that you read to and encourage your children to read to you, to develop a love of reading. In the early stages of reading children have lots to focus on, like using their phonics knowledge to sound out unfamiliar words. The book they bring home should be an easier read than the level they read in school. This enables the children to build their confidence and work on trickier aspects in school.
