Aliens Love Underpants
We have started off our English lessons by reading 'Aliens Love Underpants'.
In small groups, the children sequence the story then wrote their favourite part of the story or captions.
Then I turned them into aliens! They had to act out parts of the story (See photos below.)
Next, we created and named our own aliens by using various materials.
Beegu
We have started our new book 'Beegu' we have only read the first few pages. We know she's not suppose to be here, she lost and nobody will listen to her.
Beegu is lost and confused, she imitating the rabbits, trees and leaves.
The children picture below worked in small groups to complete a freeze-frame of Beegu.
Beegu sent us a letter asking for help!
We were busy working away, when suddenly Mrs Forster came through with a box (covered in alien slime) that had Year 1 on it. We opened it up and it was from Beegu asking for help.
We know Beegu struggles to understand people, so we made sure when we wrote back to her it was our neatest and best work.
Beegu came to school! It was caught on CCTV.
Beegu's parents finally found her and took her home... but not before paying us a visit at school.
She was so grateful for our advice letters we wrote to her, she came to visit and left us a little present each.
We all received our own alien slime!
Thanks Beegu,
Please come and visit again soon.
Hot Seating - Beegu
We learnt:
What is a question
Question words
How to write a question
Then in pairs, we took it in turns in the 'hot seat' as 'Beegu' and answered our partners questions.
Take a look at our hot seating...
